The scenographic proposal follows the curatorial axis of PQ27, “Absences and silences as potential spaces for new scenographic futures”, using materials that carry memory and history: used garments, discarded fabrics, and recovered textile fragments. These remnants, associated with absent bodies and invisible stories, are reused as scenic material, transforming what was discarded into a source of meaning.
The textiles are compressed into large blocks secured with straps, condensing memories and silences into new tensioned forms that preserve the marks of their origin. A metal frame forms a catenary that generates a suspended inverted vault, evoking Gaudí’s structures and proposing a reflection on balance, gravity, and fragility. The void beneath the vault becomes an active space, charged with dramatic potential.
A circular mirror on the floor reflects the structure and visually reconstructs the complete arch, making the absent visible and transforming the void into an image. In this way, the proposal flows through reflection, and displacement to materialize the relationship between presence and absence.
The installation includes a walkway that allows visitors to pass through underneath the vault, turning the path into a physical experiential journey. The audience ceases to be merely spectators and begins to inhabit the silence, activating the work through movement and perceiving the tension between weight, suspension, reflection, and emptiness.
The project does not tell only a story, but rather creates conditions for inhabiting absence, transforming what was discarded into something monumental and proposing a scenographic future in which the void is experienced as a space of shared imagination.
